Patna: Ten wives, six girlfriends, a hobby of driving a Jaguar, travelling in airplanes, and staying in 5-star hotels. A man living in Sitamarhi, Bihar, has garnered attention not just for his criminal activities but also for his unusual lifestyle that includes multiple marriages and a lavish lifestyle.
Known as Mohammad Irfan, or Ujale, this thief has managed to maintain a life that seems fit for a wealthy industrialist. With ten wives and six girlfriends, his story is both intriguing and shocking.
How the thief was arrested
Irfan’s life took a turn when he was arrested two years back by Kavinagar Kotwali police in Ghaziabad. During the arrest, police recovered his luxurious Jaguar car, which was registered in the name of one of his wives.
The arrest revealed a man who had a knack for charm and deception. Irfan would woo women in cities where he planned to commit crimes, often marrying them before fleeing with stolen goods.
Thief’s contributions for development of village
Despite his criminal activities, Irfan has a peculiar reputation in his home village. Many residents view him as a benefactor rather than a thief. He has reportedly spent a significant portion of his stolen money on the development of his village.
Due to his contributions, the village now boasts paved roads and electricity, making life easier for its residents. His philanthropic gestures have helped his first wife win election to the district panchayat unopposed, and she later won re-election by a considerable margin.
Irfan’s criminal methods were well thought out. According to police, he would travel from Bihar to Delhi in his Jaguar, but for longer distances, he preferred flying. His targets were always luxurious bungalows, which he would scout for about a week or ten days before executing the theft. He would then steal goods worth lakhs and crores of rupees, often escaping without a trace.
How thief conned women
Known for his flashy attire, Irfan’s alter ego was that of an industrialist named Aryan Khanna. He would introduce himself as such to women he befriended during his stays in various cities. This persona helped him maintain the façade of wealth and success while carrying out his criminal activities.
Interestingly, Irfan himself admitted during police questioning that he was unsure of the exact number of wives he had. He spoke of ten wives and six girlfriends but mentioned that many of these relationships were fleeting, as he would often not meet them again after moving on.
