10 -year -old diesel, 15 year old petrol vehicles will not get fuel, NCR will be implemented soon from 1 July
Delhi-NCR There is big news for people living in. Diesel and 15 year old petrol vehicles will not get fuel from 1 July in Delhi. This step is being taken to reduce the increasing pollution in Delhi. In this regard, the Air Quality Management Commission (CAQM) has announced that all end-off-lif (EOL) vehicles identified through automated number plate identification (ANPR) cameras will not be allowed to be fuel from July 1 that from July 1. That is, 10 year old diesel and 15 year old petrol vehicles will not get fuel.
This rule will be applicable in NCR from 1 November
According to CAQM, the ban will spread to Gurugram, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, Gautam Budh Nagar and Sonipat from 1 November and will cover the rest of the NCR from April 1, 2026. ANPR cameras have been installed at 500 fuel stations across Delhi for not fueling old vehicles, which will make it possible to track the real -time data of vehicles. So far, the system has checked more than 3.63 crore vehicles, of which 4.90 lakhs have been marked as the end of life.
Exercise to reduce pollution
Given the increasing pollution in Delhi and NCR, it is very important to remove old BS standard vehicles. These vehicles play a big role in air pollution. The ANPR system automatically captures the license plate numbers as vehicles enter the fuel station. It then crosses the data with a vehicle database, which stores information like registration details, fuel type and vehicle age. If a vehicle is found to be higher than the legal age limit, it is flagged off as EOL. After being flagged, the fuel station receives an alert to refuse to fill the fuel. Violations are recorded and sent to enforcement agencies, which can take further action like seizing or scrapping the vehicle
