• Patna. A very good news has emerged in Bihar for particularly weak tribal groups (PVTGS). Deputy Chief Minister Shri Samrat Chaudhary has announced that 1308 tribal families will be given pucca houses in 10 districts of the state under the Prime Minister’s Tribal Tribal Justice Emperor (PM-Janman). This decision is being considered a major step towards social justice, which aims to give dignified lives to poor and disadvantaged tribal communities who do not yet have their permanent housing.

    The scheme shows the government’s commitment to the Government of India double engine, in which a clear effort is being made to bring weak communities into the mainstream. The assistance amount received under the scheme will be ₹ 2 lakh, which will be distributed in four installments.
  • You will get a total benefit of ₹ 2.39 lakh
    Under the PM-Janman scheme, the beneficiaries will not only get direct assistance of ₹ 2 lakh, but at the same time they will get an additional benefit of ₹ 27,000 under MNREGA and an additional benefit of ₹ 12,000 under Swachh Bharat Mission for construction of toilets. In this way, every eligible family will get a total financial assistance of ₹ 2.39 lakh, which will play a decisive role in raising their standard of living.
  • Who will get the benefit of the scheme?
    The benefit of this scheme will be given to those families:
  • Those who do not already have a pucca house.
  • Whose member is not in government service.
  • Families who fulfill these two conditions will be identified through survey and the characters will be registered on the ‘housing’ soft portal.
  • These districts of Bihar will be included
    Under this scheme, 1308 tribal families of 10 districts of Bihar have been identified are:
  • Bansa
  • Kaimur (Bhabhua)
  • Bhagalpur
  • Went
  • Katihar
  • Kishanganj
  • Madhepura
  • Nawada
  • Purnia
  • Supaul
  • Priority is being given to Asura, Birhor, Birjia, Hilakharia, Korwa, Malpahadia, Parhaiya, Soriapahadia and Savar tribes of these districts.
  • Help amount will be found in installments
    Assistance will be given in this way under PM-Janman scheme:
  • First installment ₹ 50,000 – After approval of the house
  • Second installment ₹ 50,000 – On completion of construction up to the ground floor
  • Third installment ₹ 50,000 – On completion of construction up to the linter level
  • Fourth installment ₹ 50,000 – On completion of finishing work above the roof level
  • Financial ratio of 60:40
    In this scheme, the financial participation of the Central and State Government has been determined in the ratio of 60:40 on the lines of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural).
  • Emphasis on transparent and sensitive implementation
    The Deputy Chief Minister has given clear instructions to the concerned departments that the scheme should be implemented with complete transparency and sensitivity so that no eligible families are deprived of this right.
