135 deaths in a month from new variant of Corona: 3 in the last 24 hours
The number of active cases of Corona virus has been decreasing by the last 2 weeks across the country. In the last 24 hours, 30 new cases have been reported, while 252 patients have been cured. The number of active cases has come down to 2086. On June 12, there were 7131 active cases across the country.
According to the Health Department, 142 have died since January 2025 from the new variant of Korona. On the previous day, 3 people have lost their lives, including 2 patients from Delhi and one from Haryana. There have been about 135 deaths in the last one month.
Case of Nimbus variant of Singapore growing in India
Dr. Naveen Kumar, director of ICMR-NIV (National Institute of Virology), said- Nimbus (NB.1.8.1) variants are also coming up in India. The number of these cases has increased rapidly in the last 5-6 weeks. We have increased testing. Currently, symptoms like Omikron are being seen in this variant.
Uttar Pradesh: Uttar Pradesh government has issued instructions to take precautions in view of the increasing cases of Kovid-19. The major health officials have asked all hospitals to keep the facilities like essential medicines, PPE kits, check -up, isolation beds, oxygen cylinders, ICU and ventilator.
Kerala: The Health Department has instructed hospitals to follow the Kovid guidelines issued in June 2023 while treating patients with symptoms of Kovid-19 and influenza. It is mandatory for everyone to apply masks in hospitals. Also, the covid test of patients with symptoms like cold, cough and fever has been made mandatory.
Karnataka: Gulbarga Institute of Medical Sciences has made a 25 -bed covid ward. Of these, five beds are for ICU (including ventilator), high dependency units and five pregnant women. The remaining 10 are normal beds.
4 new variants of Kovid-19 found in India
In many states of India, four new variants have been found in the country amidst the increase in the cases of Kovid-19. Dr. Rajiv Bahl, director of ICMR, said that the variants that have been sequential from South and West India are LF.7, XFG, JN.1 and NB.1.8.1 series.
Sequencing is being done by taking samples from other places, so that the new variant can be examined. Cases are not very serious, people should not worry, just be cautious.
The World Health Organization (WHO) has also not considered them worrying. However, has been categorized as a variant kept under surveillance. This variant is visible in the increasing cases of Kovid in other countries of Asia including China.
