Seoul: 14 people have died and 12 people are missing due to heavy rains and floods in South Korea. Please tell that due to heavy rains for five consecutive days, there has been severe havoc. Hundreds of houses and shops are drowned in water. The government gave this information on Sunday.

The Ministry of Internal and Security, South Korea, said that a person living there died due to the collapse of a house on Sunday due to rain and another person was found dead after being swept away in a swinging river in Gapyong city, North-East of Seoul. The ministry said that eight people were found dead due to landslide incident, house collapse and sudden floods in the southern city of Sanchyong while six others went missing.

Thousands displaced

A ministry report said that six people were missing in Gapyong and Southern city Guangju. Three people were found dead in a submerged car earlier last week and the car collapsed in the soil and concrete after the wall of an overpass collapsed in Osan, located south of Seoul, on which a person riding was killed. According to the ministry report, till 9 am on Sunday morning, around 3,840 people were forced to vacate their homes. (Language)
