2 arrested including Narcotics Bureau Inspector while taking bribe of Rs 3 lakh, caught red handed by CBI

In Chittorgarh district of Rajasthan, CBI has arrested two people, including an inspector of Narcotics Bureau, for demanding a bribe of Rs 3 lakh. The accused had asked for bribe from the complainant for the settlement of his case.
The open game of bribery in the Central Narcotics Department came to light once again, when the CBI team caught a Narcotics Inspector posted in Chittorgarh and a middleman from Bhilwara red-handed in a bribery case of Rs. 3 lakhs. The CBI team remained camping in Chittorgarh and Bhilwara for two consecutive days and finally exposed the case of bribe demanded in exchange for hushing up the drug case. Narcotics Inspector Adarsh Yogi was investigating the case. During the investigation, on seeking information, bills etc. were presented by the drug manufacturing company as per the rules, but while putting pressure on this matter, Inspector Adarsh Yogi demanded many files and other records including two year old bills from the drug company and distributors. Asked and started harassing him to take money.
Seeing the continuous pressure, the drug distributor applicant gave complete information about the case to the CBI Jaipur office. After checking the authenticity of the information, the CBI team reached Bhilwara on Monday and contacted the applicant and took complete information. After this, as per the instructions of CBI, he called Inspector Adarsh Yogi and Yogi demanded a bribe of Rs 20 lakh to hush up the case and for this he called the applicant outside the IDBI Bank in front of Indira Stadium on Wednesday.
The CBI team sent the applicant with cameras and other equipment to catch the accused red-handed. At first, Adarsh Yogi was adamant on the demand of Rs 20 lakh, but after much pleading, the deal was finalized for Rs 8 lakh, on which the applicant offered to give Rs 3 lakh immediately. On this, the inspector refused to accept the money and promised to pay the bribe amount at the place specified by him and went away from there.
The next day i.e. Thursday at 10 am the applicant contacted the inspector and he gave the number of the middleman. After some time, the middleman met the applicant at the appointed place, where he handed over colored notes of Rs 3 lakh to the middleman. After counting the notes and informing the inspector about the arrival of the amount, the CBI team deployed nearby in plain clothes caught the middleman and another CBI team deployed in Chittorgarh immediately arrested Adarsh Yogi as soon as the information was received. Took. CBI searched the residential and office premises of the accused inspector in Chittorgarh and Bikaner, from which objectionable documents were recovered. Investigation is ongoing in this matter.
CJM court gave transit remand
As 24 hours have passed, the middleman and the narcotics inspector were produced in the Chittorgarh court today by the CBI team, where Chief Judicial Magistrate Santosh Kumar Bairwa handed over the accused on one-day transit remand. In the afternoon, the CBI team left for Jaipur with the broker and the narcotics inspector.
CBI takes concrete action
On talking to the applicant in the case, he told that he had contacted CBI due to being worried and scared, but CBI provided him immediate cooperation and complete assurance. On the condition of anonymity, the applicant appealed to the common people that in such a case any person can contact the CBI. He expressed confidence that CBI maintains the trust of the common man.
