A shameful case has once again come to light from Angul district of Odisha. In Handpa police station area, a woman was not only insulted by the villagers by putting a ‘Kangaroo Court’, but also wearing a garland of slippers and roamed the entire village. It is being told that all this happened about a dispute of only 2 thousand rupees.

This incident is from Handpa police station area of Angul district. According to the information, a woman was accused of borrowing Rs 2,000 by someone. After this, some people in the village together ruled themselves, which is called ‘Kangaroo Court’ in common language.

What is Kangaroo Court?
Explain that the word ‘Kangaroo Court’ is used in those cases, when people ignore the legal process and become a court and start punishing arbitrary. It is against Indian law and doing so falls under the category of crime.
Police started investigating the case
Police came into action as soon as the incident was received. Handpa police station has reached the spot and started investigation. On the basis of the victim’s complaint, the culprits are being identified and action will be taken against them soon.
