25% tariff of Donald Trump disappointed the stock market, Sensex 296 and Nifty 87 points broken
Share Market Closing 31 July, 2025: On Wednesday, the US President announced a 25 percent tariff for India and a separate penalty for trade with Russia. The Indian stock market did not like Trump’s decision at all and the market closed down with a major decline today. Let us tell you that the Indian stock market has closed down for the third consecutive day. On Thursday, the BSE Sensex closed at 81,185.58 points with a decline of 296.28 points (0.36%). Similarly, today NSE’s Nifty 50 index also closed at 24,768.35 points with a loss of 86.70 points (0.35%).
Stormy boom in shares of Hindustan Unilever
On Thursday, only 7 out of 30 companies of Sensex closed the green mark with an increase and the shares of all the remaining 23 companies closed in red mark. Similarly, only 14 out of 50 of the Nifty 50 came to a green mark with shares and the remaining 36 companies closed in red mark with losses. Today, Hindustan Unilever shares, one of the Sensex companies, closed with the highest 3.61 percent gain. On the other hand, today Tata Steel shares closed down 2.70 percent.
