The price of this cocaine is said to be around Rs 3.14 crore. A case against him started in Denpasar’s district court on Tuesday. Under the strict drug laws of Indonesia, these three may be hanged. All three have been identified as Jonathan Christopher Callier (28), Lisa Alan Stocker (29), and Finnus Ambrose Float (31). The next hearing of the case will now be held on June 10.

Where was this cocaine hidden?

Prosecutor I Med Dipa Umbara said that on 1 February, Jonathan and Lisa were caught at Bali’s airport when customs officials investigated their X-ray of their belongings. His bag found suspicious items hidden as a food packing. The investigation found that there was a total of 993.56 grams in packets of 10 Angel Delight Desert Mix in Jonathan’s bag and 7 angel dilite desert mix. The price of this cocaine was estimated to be around 60 crores Indonesian Rupiah (about 3.68 lakh US dollars or 3.14 crore Indian rupees).

Two days later, on 3 February, the police conducted a controlled delivery operation, in which Jonathan and Lisa handed over drugs to Finnus in the parking area of ​​a hotel in Denpasar. After this Finnus was also arrested. Finnus’ trial is going on separately. Prosecutor Umbara told the court that these drugs were brought from England to Bali via Doha International Airport in Qatar. Ponco Indrio, deputy director of the Bali Police Narcotics Unit, revealed in a press conference on 7 February that the group had smuggled cocaine in Bali 2 times before, but was caught in the third time.

In Indonesia, cases related to drugs and intoxication are taken very seriously. The laws there are counted among the world’s strict drug laws. The culprits of drug smuggling are often sentenced to death, which is carried out through firing squads. According to data from the Ministry of Immigration and Reforms of Indonesia, around 530 people in the country are currently waiting for the death sentence, including 96 foreign nationals. Most of these cases are related to drugs. In 2016, an Indonesian and three foreign nationals were hanged in Indonesia.
