4 questions from Congress PM Modi: Asked- Prime Minister of political parties
Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh raised 4 questions to PM Modi on Wednesday. Which includes questions of organizing an all -party meeting, setting up a review committee on Operation Sindoor, 2 -day discussion during the monsoon session and an attempt to catch the terrorists of Pahalgam attack.
Ramesh said- It is fine to meet 51 MPs of 7 delegation from returning from travel to 32 countries. This is their privilege and this is not surprising. But we have only four easy questions. We want PM to answer these questions.
Congress targets government on \ Manrega
The Congress said on the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (Manrega)- The central government is working on ‘How to eliminate Manrega in three easy stages’.
Ramesh shared a screenshot of media report on X. It claimed that for the first time the government has set a limit of spending 60 percent of its annual allocation for the first half of FY 2025-26 under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS).
Ramesh told- How the central government is finishing Manrega in 3 stages
Step I: Do not give adequate funding to MNREGA for a decade, which kept the wage rate stable and the pending payment amount continued to increase. Which has reached Rs 21,000 crore at the beginning of this financial year.
Phase II: Applying monthly/quarterly expenditure scheme of the Ministry of Finance (Monthly/Quarterly Expenditure Plan), under which only 60% of the total budget of MNREGA has been fixed in the first six months of the financial year.
Step III: When the scope of the budget does not survive after the pending payment is not left, then the MNREGA beneficiaries almost stop giving work.
Ramesh said – the first and second step has been implemented
Ramesh said that the central government had implemented the first and second step. The third step is now going to be revealed soon. He said that MNREGA wages should be increased to Rs 400 per day. Aadhaar based payment bridge system (ABPS) should not be made necessary. Wages should be paid within a statutory period of 15 days and any delay in payment should be made.
