4 -storey building collapsed in Delhi: 11 killed so far, take more than 10

The 4 -storey building collapsed in Delhi’s Mustafabad area late on Friday at 2.30 pm. The death toll in the accident has reached 11. According to the police, more than 10 people are still buried under the debris in the accident.

After the accident, 14 people were rescued and admitted to GTB Hospital. 11 of them died during treatment. NDRF and Delhi Police teams are engaged in rescue operation.

Divisional Fire Officer Rajendra Atwal said that a house was reported to be collapsing late at night. On reaching the spot, it was found that the entire building has collapsed and people are stranded in the rubble. Rescue operations are being carried out with the police.

Actually, the weather took a sudden turn in Delhi on Friday night. There was damage in many areas due to heavy rains and thunderstorms. It is believed that this is why the building of Mustafabad also collapsed.

Local MLA said- Accident result of MCD’s negligence

Deputy Speaker and MLA from Mustafabad Mohan Singh Bisht reached the spot and said that the incident is the result of MCD’s negligence and corruption. He said that after winning the election, he had described this building as dangerous and also warned LG and MCD. Bisht said that there are many illegal and dilapidated buildings in Mustafabad and power companies do not provide connections to the poor. Compensation has been announced to the family of the deceased.

The same accident happened last week

Earlier on April 11, the wall of an under -construction building collapsed in Madhu Vihar, Delhi. The incident took place near Madhu Vihar police station. One person died in the accident, while two people were injured.

ADC Vineet Kumar of East Delhi had said, “We received a PCR call at around 7 pm. On reaching the spot, we found that the wall of an under -construction building fell during a dust storm. One person was killed and two injured. The injured were rushed to the hospital.”
