5 coal mines auctioned in the 10th round of commercial coal mine auction
New Delhi, 21 November (HS). On the first day of the 10th round of auction of commercial coal mines, 5 coal mines were auctioned. NLC India Ltd, ACC Ltd and JSW Energy Utkal Ltd are among the five companies that have acquired five mines on the first day of the tenth round of commercial coal mine auction.
A total of nine blocks have been put up for sale in the tenth round of commercial coal mine auction, the Coal Ministry said in a statement on Thursday. In the earlier auction, five coal mines were put up for auction. Of these 5 coal mines, one has been completely explored while four have been partially explored.
ACC Ltd won one coal mine in Madhya Pradesh, while NLC India Ltd and JSW Energy Utkal Ltd won one block each in Odisha, the ministry said. Apart from this, two other companies that won the coal block are Mineware Advisors Private Limited and Shreeji Noorvi Coal Mining and Trading Private Limited.
According to the Coal Ministry, the total geological reserves for these five commercial coal mines is 2,630.77 million tonnes. At the same time, the cumulative peak rated capacity (PRC) for these coal mines is 12.00 MTPA. Once these five mines become operational, they will generate annual revenue of Rs 1,106.91 crore. There will be a capital investment of Rs 1,800 crore in these mines and 16,224 people will get employment.
It is noteworthy that the Coal Ministry had started the auction of coal mines for commercial mining under the 10th round on June 21, 2024.
