Government telecom company Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) can start 5G services in Delhi and other select cities by the end of September. However, no official date has been announced by the company yet. The company has already conducted 5G tests on several 4G sites, which are part of its ongoing plan to install one lakh 4G towers across the country. According to the company, BSNL has activated 5G services in the capitals of major states including Jaipur, Lucknow, Chandigarh, Bhopal, Kolkata, Patna, Hyderabad and Chennai. 5G services will be started across the country with step wise.

Jio-etirel will get a tough competition

Telecom expert says that private telecom company Jio and Airtel will get a tough competition after BSNL started 5G service as its recharge plans are cheap. At the same time, private companies are expensive. To take advantage of the cheap recharge plan, users will shift towards BSNL.

Qualize recharge compared to private player

If you look at BSNL’s prepaid recharge plan, then they are much cheaper than private telecom players. BSNL is giving 2 GB of data per day to its users with a validity of 70 days for just Rs 197. At the same time, 2 GB data is being available daily with a validity of 365 days for Rs 1,515. No private company is providing service in this price cap. In such a situation, if the BSNL launches 5G service at this rate, then it will surely create light in the market.
