6520 crore sanctioned for Kisan Estate Scheme in Union Cabinet meeting

Six decisions related to farmers and railways have been made in the Union Cabinet meeting. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that two decisions are related to the farmers and four decisions are related to the railways. The meeting was held on Thursday under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The meeting approved an additional expenditure of Rs 1920 crore for the Central Finance Scheme ‘Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampada Yojana’ running during the 15th Finance Commission Chakra (2021-22 to 2025-26). Now the budget of this scheme has increased to Rs 6520 crore.
Big decisions related to farmers
It has been decided to create 50 multi-product food radiation units under the Integrated Cold Series and Price Promotion Infrastructure of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampada Yojana. Along with this, 100 -recognized food test laboratories will be built under Food Safety and Quality Assurance Infrastructure. Rs 1000 crore has been allocated for their establishment and Rs 920 crore for approval of projects under various component schemes of PMKSY during the 15th Finance Commission.
Interest letter will be released
Both ICCVAI and FSQAI schemes are part of the PMKSY scheme. Both these schemes run on the basis of demand. In such a situation, letters of interest will be issued to invite proposals from eligible institutions across the country. The proposals received under the AaoI will be approved after appropriate investigation as per the eligibility criteria as per the existing plan guidelines.
100 NABL lab will increase food security
The implementation of proposed 50 multi-product food radiation units is expected to create a total test capacity of 20 to 30 million metric tonnes per year depending on the type of radiated food products under these units. The installation of 100 NABL recognized food testing laboratories proposed under the private sector will develop advanced infrastructure for testing food samples, which will ensure compliance with food safety standards and supply of safe foods.
3 crore members will benefit
It has been decided to make NCDC stronger to strengthen the cooperative sector. Its capital has been increased by Rs 2000 crore. The new cooperative policy was recently launched. The NAP of the loan that NCDC gives is zero. Under this scheme, a loan of 500 crores will be given every year for the next four years. A total loan of 20 thousand crores will be given. This will benefit about 13 thousand cooperative society and 3 crore members.
Fourth rail line in Itarsi and New Jalpaiguri
In this meeting, the fourth line between Itarsi to Nagpur has been approved. At the same time, the third and fourth lines between Alyabari to New Jalpaiguri have been approved. It has also been approved to double the Prabhani line from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. This will improve rail traffic.
