The Andhra Pradesh government on Monday suspended seven officials in connection with the recent wall collapse at the Sinhachalam temple in Visakhapatnam. Along with this, the process of criminal action against the contractor and two employees has also been started. Official sources gave this information.
The incident took place early on May 1, when the temple wall collapsed due to heavy rains. Seven people died tragically and many others were injured when the wall collapsed. This accident caused a stir. Giving information about the action taken by the Telugu Desam Party (TDP)-led government on the incident, a government source said, “Contractors and officials are responsible for the loss of life and property caused by gross negligence.”
Stampede during festive in temple in Goa, 6 people died
In another news, 6 people were killed and 30 others were injured when a stampede occurred during a celebration in a temple in Northern Goa during a festival early Saturday. The incident took place at around 3:00 am at Sri Lairai Devi Temple in Shirgaon, about 40 km from Panaji. He said that thousands of devotees gathered in the narrow streets of the temple to participate in the annual festival and there was a stampede during this time.
Director General of Police Alok Kumar said that at least 30,000 to 40,000 people had gathered for the festival and some people were standing on a slope. Some people fell on the slope, causing other people to fall on each other. 40 to 50 people fell on the slope, after which there was a stampede. This stampede was limited to the sloping place. Thousands of devotees from Goa, Maharashtra and Karnataka gathered in the temple to attend the festival. (input language)
