99 candidates fielded for Maharashtra elections.. see who are the big names in BJP’s list

BJP has released the first list of 99 candidates for Maharashtra elections 2024. Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will contest from Nagpur South West, State BJP chief Chandrashekhar Bawankule from Kamathi, Minister Girish Mahajan from Jamner, Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar from Ballarpur, Shrijaya Ashok Chavan from Bhokar, Ashish Shelar from Vandre West, Mangal Prabhat Lodha from Malabar Hill. Whereas Rahul Narvekar will contest from Colaba, Chhatrapati Shivendra Raje Bhosle will contest from Satara. By releasing the first list of 99 candidates, BJP has in a way taken an lead over other parties. BJP can contest on 150 to 158 seats here. The party will also leave seats for some small parties including RPI.

Round of brainstorming in MVA

In a way, while BJP has released the list, the phase of churning has started in Mahavikas Aghadi i.e. MVA. The seats in the three major parties have not been finalized yet. At the same time, churning has been completed on almost all the seats of BJP, Shiv Sena and NCP included in the grand alliance. NCP can contest on 50 seats and Shiv Sena on 60 seats.
