Tom Karan started crying at the airport, deril Mitchell said- ‘Now I will never go to Pakistan’

The T20 league of the two countries was also affected amidst conditions like war between India and Pakistan, due to which foreign players faced a lot of trouble. The Indian Premier League (IPL) was postponed for a week amid poor conditions between India and Pakistan, while Pakistan Super League (PSL) was shifted to Dubai due to poor conditions in Pakistan where the UAE government also refused to host the tournament.

However, it was a matter of honor that foreign players somehow managed to reach Dubai and during this time there was an atmosphere of fear among foreign players in the journey from Pakistan to Dubai. Bangladesh leg -spinner Rishad Hussain revealed that he and other foreign players are feeling relieved by reaching Dubai amidst a poor atmosphere between India and Pakistan.

Rishad also said that New Zealand’s batting all -rounder Deril Mitchell told him that he will never return to Pakistan ‘, especially under these circumstances, because foreign players were quite afraid. Rishad quoted Cricbuz as saying, “Foreign players like Sam Billings, Darry Mitchell, Kushal Perera, David VJ, Tom Karan were all very scared. As soon as he landed in Dubai, Mitchell told me that he will never go to Pakistan again, especially in such a scenario. Overall, he was all scared.”

Rishad also told that Tom Karan had started crying at the airport itself. “He (Tom Karan) went to the airport, but he heard that the airport is closed. Then he started crying like a small child. At such a time he needed two or three people to handle it.”

Rishad Lahore was part of the Kalandars team and Pesar Nahid Rana (Peshawar Jalmi), PSL was two Bangladeshi players participating in 2025. All foreign players in the Pakistan League were taken to the UAE from where they were booked in a connecting flight for their final destinations. Rishad said, “Alhamdulillah, we have reached Dubai after recovering from a crisis and now I feel good. After landing in Dubai, when we heard that 20 minutes after flying from the airport, the missile has attacked the airport. The news was scary as well as tragic and now we are feeling relieved.”
