What is diabetes and why?

4. Monogenic Diabetes
It is a rare genetic type of diabetes, especially seen in newborns. It is also known as’ Maturity ONSET Diabetes of the Young). This diabetes is caused by genetic mutations.
5. Type 5 Diabetes
Type 5 diabetes has now been identified in new researches, with diabetes and kidney disease together. In this, along with insulin resistance, the function of the kidney also deteriorates. Some experts are also calling it ‘Hybrid Diabetes’ or ‘Diabetes with Kidney-Related Metabolic Dysfunction’. Its treatment starts like type 2 but over time the kidney requires separate care.
