Bad news for IPL teams, Cricket South Africa said- We want players to come back to the country by 26 May
Cricket South Africa has said that he wants his players selected for the World Test Championship Finals to return to their homeland from IPL 2025 to 26 May. Corbin Bosch (Mumbai Indians), Vian Mulder (Sunrisers Hyderabad) Marco Yansen (Punjab Kings), Aden Markram (Lucknow Supergiants), Lungi Angidi (Royal Challengers Bangalore), Kagiso Rabada (Gujarat Titans), Ryan Ryyan Ricelton (Mumbai Indians) and Triston Stabs (Delhi Capitals) The championship is part of the team selected for the final.
Hyderabad is out of the playoff race and has to play his last match against Kolkata Knight Riders on 25 May, so Vian Malders can return to their homeland on time. But the rest of the teams remain in the race.
The players selected for the final have been asked to gather in Arundel, England by 31 May. The team will then play a warm -up match against Zimbabwe from June 3 to 6 and will leave for London from 7 June.
Significantly, the IPL was suspended for a week due to increasing tension on the border between India and Pakistan. Due to which the schedule had to be replaced and now the league stage will end by 27 May and the playoffs will start from May 29.
Apart from 8 players selected for the World Test Championship Final, other South African players in the IPL are Dewald Brevis (Chennai Super Kings), Faf du Plessis and Donovan Pharera (Delhi Capital), Garald Koetzi (Gujarat Titans), Quinton de Kock and Enrich Norther Breetzke (Lucknow Super Giants), Nandre Burger, Quen Mafaka, Luan-Dre Pretorius (Rajasthan Royals) and Henriqu Klassen (Sunrisers Hyderabad).
