Online travel and hotel booking platforms such as Cleartrip, McMitrip and Ezmitrip passengers are working closely with airlines and hotels to change the date for free and give discounts in cancellation charge. The people of the hotel industry fear that this attack will make the tourists fear, which will affect the livelihood of people dependent on tourism in Jammu and Kashmir.

Flight cancellation increased by 7 times

On Tuesday, at least 26 people, including most tourists, were killed and many were injured in Basaron, Pahalgam on Tuesday. Manjari Singhal of Clertrip said that according to initial data, flight cancellation has increased by seven times and further booking has decreased by about 40%. A spokesperson of the Mekkitrip said that his team is working 24 hours with the airline and hotel partners to help the passengers to help in booking and cancellation.

Companies giving discounts in cancellation charge

Nishant Pitti of Ezmatrip said that in view of the current situation in Srinagar, he is ready to help the customers coming and going to Srinagar. He has announced to change the free date and give a discount on the Cancellation Charge on the journey till April 30 for all the booking done on or before 22 April or before.

Rajiv Mehra, general secretary of the federation of the Indian Tourism and Hotel Union (FAITH), said that tourism is not just a means of earning for the people of Jammu and Kashmir, but their identity, heritage and hope. He said that this attack has not only killed innocent people, but has also hurt thousands of families who are alive on tourism. This will affect every person associated with tourism including houseboat owners, hotel owners, guides and artisans. The Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO) have strongly condemned this terrorist attack. He says that the attack has been carried out to damage tourism in Kashmir and create an atmosphere of fear.
