Wherever the organs of Sati fell, Shaktipeeths were established there. Hinglaj is the holy place where the forehead of Mother Sati fell. That is why this temple is very revered. Local people also call it as ‘Hinglaj Devi’ or ‘Nani Maa’.

The temple is surrounded by barren but mysterious hills on the banks of the Hingol River. Its natural shade and religious significance provide it a unique spiritual energy. This temple has deep importance especially in Sindhi and Baloch Hindu communities.
The ancient cave temple of Hinglaj Mata is one of the few Hindu sites in the country where a large number of pilgrims come every year. Hinglaj Yatra, Pakistan’s largest Hindu festival, is celebrated here. During this time a grand fair is organized here for 3 days. Devotees coming here climb hundreds of stairs to reach the summit of the volcano present here. Devotees offer coconut and flowers in the pit present here and ask for divine permission to see Hinglaj Mata.
