Rohit Sharma took over the Test team after Virat Kohli in 2022 and gave the team 12 wins in 24 Tests. However, he retired from Test cricket due to poor form. Shubman Gill is at the forefront of the captaincy race, especially given his young age and captaincy capacity. As far as my vice-captain is concerned, I would like to see Shubman Gill with some experience as the deputy of Bumrah. If there is any problem with Bumrah’s fitness, I would like to see some experience.”

  • Fourth Test Match: 23 to 27 July, 3:30 pm in India (Emirates Old Trafford, Manchester)
  • Fifth and last Test match: 31 July to August 4, 3:30 pm in India (The Oval, London)
