1. Purnimant Almanac: The end of the month in this almanac is on the full moon. This almanac is followed in most states of northern India like Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan, Haryana etc. According to this system, the fast of Vat Savitri is celebrated on the Amavasya of Krishna Paksha of Jyeshtha month. It is called ‘Vat Savitri Amavasya’, which will be celebrated this time on 26 May 2025, day Monday.
2. Amant Almanac: The month ends on Amavasya in this almanac. This almanac is followed in some states of Maharashtra, Gujarat and South India. According to this system, the fast of Vat Savitri is celebrated on the full moon of Shukla Paksha of Jyeshtha month. It is called ‘Vat Purnima fast’. And this Vat Purnima fast will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 in western and southern India.

According to North India (Purnimant Almanac), Vat Savitri fast is celebrated on Jyeshtha Amavasya and according to western and southern India (Amant Panchang), Vat Savitri Vrat is celebrated on Jyeshtha Purnima. Vat Savitri fast dates 2025:
– Vat Savitri Amavasya (Northern India): Monday, 26 May 2025.
– Vat Purnima Vrat (Western and Southern India): Tuesday, 10 June 2025.
