Debut made with Kadhalar Dhinam
Kunal was born in the house of Colonel Rajendra Singh of Haryana. He started his career as a lead actor from Tamil cinema. In 1999, he made his debut with Sonali Bendre with ‘Kadhalar Dhinam’. This movie became so popular that the makers dubbed it in Hindi as well and released it as ‘Dil Hi Dil Mein’. The song ‘Ae Nazneen Suno Na’ from this film is still considered a Cult.
All films flop after the first hit
After the hit debut, Kunal acted in many more Tamil films, but no film of his could show special amazing at the box office. In such a situation, many of his films were closed. Some shot, but the makers could not muster the courage to release it. When Kunal stopped getting good roles, he too left the acting and caught the job of Assistant Editor and moved towards film making.

Police detained girlfriend after death
The news of Kunal’s death on 7 February 2008 shocked everyone. The body of the actor was found hanging in actress Laveena Bhatia’s home in Mumbai. Kunal had met with the team of the film Lavina and ‘Yogi’ a few hours before the death, in which he was working. After Kunal’s death, the police took Lavina into custody, as he was present in the house with him at the time of the actor’s death.
Girlfriend’s statement
In a statement to the police, Lavina had told that she had gone to the washroom for 10 minutes and when she returned, she saw that Kunal had hanged herself. No evidence was found in this case against Lavina. After which the police released him after keeping him in custody for months. The police did not find any disturbance in the case, so it was described as a case of suicide. However, this was not the first time that Kunal had tried to commit suicide, even before he had tried to give his life by cutting his wrist.
Case opened again
Kunal Singh’s father claimed that there was any disturbance in the case, he said that when he took Kunal’s body from the hospital, he had many injuries and cuts on him. He claimed that after the murder of Kunal, an attempt has been made to make it a form of suicide. He said that – ‘Kunal had targets of injury to the right hand and also on the neck. It seemed as if Kunal was hanged after strangling.
Case assigned to CBI
Kunal’s father said that when someone was present in the house, how can he commit suicide? Colonel Singh said that the police called the case a suicide within 45 minutes and ignored many facts. He also told that an hour before the death, music director Dabboo Malik messaged Kunal and called him to his house. The case was handed over to the CBI after Kunal Singh’s father’s claim, but the CBI also called the case a suicide.
