Heavy rains in Mumbai, underground metro station filled with water

Mumbai has been raining heavily since Monday morning. The recently started, the Worli underground metro station was flooded. It was inaugurated by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on 1 May.

Here, visibility is low due to dense clouds. This has affected 8 flights. On the streets, people are driving by turning on the lights of vehicles.

With the rain, the wind blows at a speed of 70 to 80 km in Mumbai, causing trees to fall in many areas. There is a 7-8 km long jam after the rain. Local trains on Harbor, Central Line have been affected. Thousands of people are still stranded.

Here in Pune, due to Sunday’s heavy rains, the river-streams suddenly came in spate. A cloudburst in the Patus area on the Pune-Solpur highway created a flood-like situation in Baramati and Indapur in Pune.

After the rain, the roads were submerged in water here. About 200 houses were flooded and many vehicles were washed away. 2 teams of NDRF have been deployed for rescue.

IMD’s alert- rain will continue in Mumbai throughout the day

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said, “Light to moderate rains are likely throughout the day in Mumbai and suburban areas.” Santa Cruz’s betel nut and coconut Wadi in Mumbai recorded the highest 25 mm, Pali Hill, 24 mm, Vile Parle and Andheri Fire Station recorded 15 mm and 14 mm rainfall.

Chakal Municipal Corporation School and Malwani Fire Station received 14 mm and 12 mm of rain, while Versova pumping station recorded 11 mm of rain. The Collector Colony of Chembur recorded 13 mm while the Chembur fire station recorded 9 mm rainfall.
