After Kohli-Rohit, now this Indian star also announced retirement, said goodbye to cricket
After Kohli and Rohit Sharma, now another experienced Indian player has said goodbye to cricket. Gujarat veteran batsman Priyank Panchal finally announced his retirement from cricket. From Ranji Trophy to Syed Mushtaq Ali, this player who won every title to Gujarat never got a chance to play in the Indian senior team.
35-year-old Gujarat-based opener and former India-A captain Priyank Panchal has announced his retirement from all formats of cricket. The Gujarat Cricket Association has confirmed this.
Panchal’s domestic career has been excellent. He scored 8856 runs in first class cricket, including 29 centuries and 34 half -centuries. Priyank became the first batsman to score a triple century for Gujarat, who played a marathon innings of 314 runs in 2016.
He won the Ranji Trophy for the first time in 2016-17, while Vijay Hazare Trophy (2015-16) and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (2012-13, 2013-14) also captained the title.
Recently, Priyank played his last first class match against Kerala, where he played a strong innings of 148 runs. However, in that match, the Gujarat team lost in the semi -finals.
Priyank scored a total of 11,950 runs for Gujarat in 242 domestic matches. He is the highest run -scorer for Gujarat, including all the formats.
However, despite being such a great record, he did not get a chance to wear the jersey of the Indian senior team. He got a chance to captain the India A and Domestic tournaments several times, but the dream of debut at the senior level remained incomplete.
