When will Eid ul-Azha/ Bakrid be celebrated in 2025
Eid al -da festival information: This time Eid-ul-Azha or Bakrid will be celebrated in Saudi Arabia and UAE on 6 June and India on June 07, 2025. Eid ul-Azha, commonly known as Bakrid, is one of the two most important festivals of the religion of Islam. This festival is dedicated to Kurbani i.e. sacrifice and dedication to Allah.
When will Eid ul-Azha be celebrated in 2025: The Islamic calendar is based on the philosophy of the moon. Therefore, the exact date of Eid ul-Azha depends on the appearance of the moon (12th month of the Islamic calendar). In Saudi Arabia and some other countries, the moon is seen first. The moon was observed on 27 May 2025 in Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates (UAE) in 2025 this year, due to which Eid ul-Azha will be celebrated on Friday, 6 June 2025 in Saudi Arabia and UAE.
The moon usually takes place in India a day after Saudi Arabia. Therefore, the moon in India is likely to be on May 28, 2025. If the moon is seen on May 28, the month of dust will begin on May 29 and Eid ul-Azha in India can be celebrated on Saturday, June 7, 2025.
However, if the moon is not visible on May 28, 30 days of Dhul-Kadah (last month) will be completed and Eid ul-Azha will be celebrated on Sunday, 8 June 2025. The final confirmation will be done by the local moon committee.
