Tharoor said on the criticism of Congress leaders: I only on terrorist attacks
Congress MP Shashi Tharoor is constantly facing criticism of his own party leaders for supporting the BJP government on Operation Sindoor. On Thursday, he clarified this and said that critics and trolls are distorting their views. However, he did not name anyone.
Tharoor wrote in a post on X- ‘I want to tell the fundamentalists who were provoked on my perceived ignorance about Indian valor across the LoC that I was clearly speaking only about the retaliation of terrorist attacks, not about the previous wars. But as usual, my words and thoughts were broken. ‘
In fact, on Tuesday, Tharoor praised the Government of India for the 2016 Uri Surgical Strike in Panama, Balakot Air Strike of 2019 and Operation Sindoor. He said that India’s stand against terrorism has changed in recent years. Earlier this did not happen.
The Congress leader asked Tharoor- how can we be so dishonest?
Tharoor’s statement was objected by Congress leader and former MP Udit Raj. He wrote in the post on X, ‘I will ask PM Modi to declare you the super spokesperson of the BJP or declare the Foreign Minister before coming to India. How can you defame the golden history of the Congress by saying that India has never crossed LoC and international border before PM Modi. How can you be so dishonest towards the party that gave you so much?
Apart from Udit Raj, many Congress leaders have criticized Tharoor. Tharoor said on 8 May that Operation Sindoor is a strong message to Pakistan and the world. India took accurate action to avenge the death of 26 innocent citizens. Many Congress leaders have been angry with him since this statement by Tharoor.
At the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting in Delhi on 14 May, party leaders pointed to Tharoor, saying that it is not a time to express private views, but it is time to clarify the official stance of the party. Congress is a democratic party, but people keep expressing their opinion. This time Tharoor has crossed the Laxman Rekha.
