Sanjay Manjrekar’s big allegation: Team selection was already decided for England tour, know what said
Former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar has questioned Team India’s selection for the tour of England. He has alleged that head coach Gautam Gambhir and Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar had already made thinking about the performance of the players who would succeed and who failed. Manjrekar believes that the selectors have selected the team on the basis of their personal opinion and forecast instead of the recent form of the players.
Sanjay Manjrekar angry with Sarfaraz Khan’s neglect
Sanjay Manjrekar expressed displeasure at especially Sarfaraz Khan being dropped from the team. He reminded that Sarfaraz had scored a brilliant 150 runs in the domestic series against New Zealand and had scored three half -centuries in a total of four Tests. Despite this, he did not find a place in the playing XI on the Australia tour and was now thrown out for the tour of England. Manjrekar says that Sarfaraz’s performance has been better than Karun Nair, yet Nair was included in the team.
Questions raised on the thinking of serious-agar
Sanjay Manjrekar wrote that in the absence of Rohit Sharma, coaches and selectors are dominating their thinking. He said that this selection seems as if it has been decided in advance which player will get success on foreign pitches and who is not. He believes that Sarfaraz was not chosen just because the team management feels that he will not be able to score in England or Australia.
England tour will start from June 20
Team India’s England tour is scheduled to begin on 20 June. The atmosphere has become hot before the tour due to the dispute over the selection. Manjrekar’s talk has made it clear that questions are still being raised on transparency and fairness in team selection.
