The batsmen are no longer well! New rule came into force in ODI cricket, ICC took a big decision to help bowlers
ICC: Cricket is a sport where new rules and laws are applied every day, which is fully compulsory to accept players. There are many such rules in cricket, from which the players benefit greatly. At the same time, some rules are so tight that players have trouble in accepting it. In this sequence, the International Cricket Council has started a new rule in ODI cricket.
The bowlers are going to benefit a lot. The good thing is that the Board of Control for Cricket in India in India has implemented this rule since IPL 2025. This is the reason why the bowlers of India are already aware of this rule and they know how to follow it. Actually, the ICC has brought this rule to help the bowlers in the death over.
Actually, the new rule that ICC has brought to benefit the ICC bowlers in ODI cricket is very special and it will be applicable from the month of July. In fact, the ICC has informed the members that there will be two new balls for 1 to 34 overs and as soon as 34 overs are completed, the fielding team will choose only one of the two balls used for 35 to 50 overs before the start of 35 overs. Then the ball selected will be used at both ends in the remaining time.
That is, in the match of 25 overs or less before the first innings starts, each team will have only a new ball for their innings. Let me tell you that in order to keep the ball fresh and dry in the death overs, this rule has helped a lot of bowlers in the IPL, so that it can be revealed. This rule will be implemented with the ODI series between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh starting in Colombo from 2 July.
ICC took a big decision to help bowlers
Earlier, this rule for the bowlers was implemented in April, but now it is being implemented with July 2. In fact, in June next month, the final match of the World Test Championship 2025 is to be played between Australia and South Africa, before that the ICC has knocked in ODI format with this new rule, which is being said to implement it in ODI as well as Test formats.
However, this ICC rule in Test format will be applicable from the match played in Gaul between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh on June 17, where it will be interesting to see how effective this ICC rule is on bowlers and how much they are helping to bowl from this ICC rule.
