New trouble for Virat Kohli before IPL final, big action at One8 Commune Pub Restaurant
Indian cricketer Virat Kohli is currently preparing to play the final of IPL 2025 but a bad news has come out for him before this big match. Virat owned by Virat is often in the discussion of Bangalore’s One 8 Commune Pub and Restaurant, but this time it has come into the limelight due to wrong reasons.
Yes, One 8 Commune Pub and Restaurant is once again facing legal trouble. The Kabban Park Police has registered a case against this pub and restaurant for allegedly violating the Cigarette and Other Tobacco Products Act (COTPA). A case has been registered against this pub and restaurant under Section 4 and 21 of COTPA due to lack of specified area for smoking within the premises.
Acting on a secret information, a police team led by Sub-Inspector Ashwini conducted a surprise inspection of the pub, which is located just 200 meters from the police station on Kasturba Road. After investigation, a case was registered for non-non-non-non-non-non-non-non-approval on the manager and employees. However, this is not the first time that One 8 has come under the purview of commune investigation.
In July 2024, the same police station lodged an FIR against the site to operate beyond permissible hours. The pub was allegedly opened even after 1 pm and the music was playing in a loud voice, due to which the residents nearby complained of noise. It was one of the three popular establishments in the city’s Central Business District, who was caught for similar violations at that time.
Later, in December, the Bruhat Bangalore Metropolitan Municipality (BBMP) issued a notice to the Forest 8 Commune to conduct a notice from the fire department without a No Objection Certificate (NOC). The pub, located on the sixth floor of the Ratnam complex, allegedly lacked the necessary fire safety provisions. The matter came to light after a complaint was made by a local social worker, after which BBMP officials of Shantinagar area inspected the campus. Despite the earlier notices, the management failed to respond to the allegedly responding, causing legal action to be again warned.
