DAV Shatabdi College on World Tobacco Prohibition Day, Faridabad
A special awareness program was organized on the eve of World Tobacco Prohibition Day under the joint aegis of the Department of Economics, Youth Red Cross Unit and Anti Tobacco Sale of DAV Shatabdi College, Faridabad. An online e-quiz competition was organized on this occasion, in which students and teachers from India and abroad participated enthusiastically.
More than two hundred participants participated in this competition. Participants participated not only from different states of India, but also from countries like Canada and Australia. This international participation proved to be a commendable initiative towards promoting global public awareness on serious subjects like tobacco prohibition.
The main objective of this program was to make the youth aware of the ill effects of tobacco intake and motivate them to adopt a healthy, strong and drug -free lifestyle.
On this occasion, the executive principal of the college, Dr. Narendra Kumar said, “The active participation of students and teachers on the occasion of World Tobacco Prohibition Day shows that society is becoming aware of health. Tobacco is a silent fatal toxin, which affects not only the person’s body, but also the social structure. The DAV Shatabdi College will continue to resolve in this direction and our effort will continue in this direction.
Dr. Suman Taneja (Chairman, Department of Economics), Dr. Sarika Saini (co-convenor, anti-tobaco cell), and Mr. Dinesh Kumar (Convenor, Youth Red Cross) played an important role in the successful organization of this event.
As the organizing secretaries, Dr. Anjusha Srivastava and Shri Dharmveer successfully planned the entire program and successfully completed it.
