ICC Women’s ODI World Cup 2025: ICC Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 is going to start from 30 September. India and Sri Lanka will jointly host the tournament, while the finals will be played on November 2 in Bengaluru or Colombo. India will play opening matches and Harmanpreet Kaur can captain the team.

The ICC made a big announcement on Monday (June 2) for the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025. The tournament will be played from 30 September to 2 November and will host it by India and Sri Lanka. The matches will be hosted at four in India and one Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka. In India, M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, ACA Stadium in Guwahati, Holkar Stadium in Indore and ACA-VDCA Stadium of Visakhapatnam have been selected. Colombo R. R. R. of Sri Lanka Premdasa Stadium will host matches.

India will play the opening match in Bengaluru on 30 September. The first semi -finals will be held on 29 October in Guwahati or Colombo, while the second semi -finals will be played on 30 October in Bengaluru. The final match will be held on 2 November in Bengaluru or Colombo.

This time a total of eight teams will participate in India, Australia, England, New Zealand, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Pakistan. The most successful team has been Australia so far, which has won the title 7 out of 12 times. England has become 4 times and New Zealand 1 time champion. The Indian women’s team has so far reached the final twice (2005 and 2017), but could not win the title. This time Team India will try to win the title in front of fans in their home.

It is believed that Harmanpreet Kaur will captain the team and Smriti Mandhana will be the vice -captain. Preparations for Team India are also loud, 3 ODIs will be played on the tour of England in July and then there will be three matches in Chennai against Australia in September.

Earlier there were reports that Mullanpur Stadium near Mohali will also get hosting and the final will be there, but this stadium is not named in the official list of ICC. Now everyone’s eyes are on whether ‘Woman in Blue’ will be able to create history on her home ground this time.

Apart from this, the ICC also announced that the Women’s T20 World Cup to be held in 2026 will host England. His first match will be played on 12 June at Edgbaston Stadium in Birmingham.
