Leaving Japan behind has become the fourth major economy: NITI Aayog member Arvind Virmani said on 26 May that India is ready to become the fourth major economy in the world by the end of 2025. Prior to this, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of NITI Aayog, BVR Subramaniam had said that India has become the fourth major economy, leaving behind Japan.ALSO READ: RBI’s report revealed, India will remain the fastest growing economy in the world
Indian economy is the fourth largest economy in the world: Ravi said in a post on the social media forum ‘X’ that the Indian economy is the fourth largest economy in the world. This is despite a very important unorganized component which is not measured in GDP. Earlier on May 30, Chief Economic Advisor (CEA) V. Anant Nagswaran had said that what the CEO of NITI Aayog said has clarified by the full-time member of NITI Aayog and former CEA Arvind Virmani that this is the story of FY 2025-26. Virmani had said that India is in the process of becoming the fourth largest economy and it will be done by the end of 2025. (Language)
