37 people killed in North-East states due to flood -landslide
The monsoon knocked in the northeastern states of the country on 29 May. Even after 5 days, the monsoon is staying there. Due to this, there is heavy rains in Manipur, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura, Meghalaya, Mizoram and Sikkim. Today, there is rain alert in 20 states including MP-Rajasthan.
So far 36 people have died due to flood -landslide in North-East states. More than 5.35 lakh people are affected by floods in 22 districts of Assam and 11 people have died so far. 15 rivers are in spate. Road, rail and boat service are affected. 31 thousand 212 people have been destroyed in a total of 165 relief camps.
1678 tourists were rescued due to landslide in Locheng-Chungthang towns of Northern Sikkim. In this, 36 people were rescued by the NDRF team by helicopter. More than 100 are still stranded here. Floods in Mangan district have been declared a disaster. On the evening of May 31, 3 soldiers died in Landslide at Military Camp in Chhant in the district. The search for 6 missing soldiers continues.
Here, 7 people, including 2 women, died in different areas after a wall-tree collapse in Siwan, Bihar on Monday. In Jaipur too, a woman lost his life due to a wall collapse. At the same time, there is a thunderstorm alert in 38 districts of Madhya Pradesh today.
Condition in northeastern states
Tripura: Flood situation has improved. Rivers are below the danger mark. 66 relief camps have been opened in flood affected districts of the state, more than 10800 people are present for 2926 families. Western Tripura district has the highest number of 50 relief camps. 219 houses in the state have been affected by floods. Orange alert continues in 5 districts of the state today.
Arunachal Pradesh: Air Force conducted a rescue operation on Monday. 14 persons stranded in the Bomjir River were rescued at Dibang, the lower valley of the state. According to the Air Force, rescue operation is being conducted by MI-17 helicopter in Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. People are being evacuated from flood -affected areas.
Manipur: More than 56,000 people have been affected by floods. 10,477 houses have been damaged by floods. On Monday, a man went missing after a person was swept away in the river in Imphal East. 2,913 people have been evacuated from the affected areas.
Meghalaya: Landslide, mud and rock falling incidents are continuously happening due to heavy rains in different parts of the state. Due to this, all schools remained closed for the fourth consecutive day in the capital Aizawl on Tuesday. Aizawl also received heavy rains on Tuesday morning.
