The Nepal cricket team on Monday won the second match of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League in Dundi and won a thrilling victory. The drama did not end even after this shocking victory of Nepal and the excited fans of Nepal in the stand entered the ground and started celebrating the most successful ODI run chase of their team so far.
In this match, Nepal won the toss and decided to field first. Scotland scored 296/7 in the prescribed 50 overs thanks to 80 of Charlie Tier and 55 runs of Finley McRith. Meanwhile, Karan Casey bowled well for Nepal and took 2 wickets for 43 runs in his ten overs. Sompal Kami and Region Dhakal also took two wickets each and Sandeep Lamichhane took one wicket. In response, Nepal made a strong start. Opener Kushal Bhurtel scored 53 runs from 44 balls, including Bhima Sharki (40) and captain Rohit Paudel (37). But Scotland’s Brandon McMulan demolished the middle order with three wickets, leading to Nepal backfoot.
Karan, who came at number 7, played the role of a troubleshooter and made a significant partnership of 60 runs with Gulsan Jha, who scored 42 runs off 30 balls. After Jha was dismissed in the 46th over, Karan carried forward the scoring board and played most of the balls. The equation was required for five runs off the last three balls.
