Patna. A new beginning has been made from Patna, which is not only going to bring the agricultural sector of Bihar to the international stage, but also gives wings to the dreams of the state’s farmers. Cooperative Minister Dr. Prem Kumar on Wednesday flagged off the first consignment of vegetables from Dasharatha Manjhi Labor and Planning Studies Institute Complex to Dubai. This shipment has been sent in collaboration with Bihar State Vegetable Processing and Marketing Federation (Vegfed).

1500 kg of vegetables, 10 types of variety in the first batch

Dr. Prem Kumar said that this first test consignment includes about 1500 kg of vegetables, including a total of 10 types of fresh green vegetables including jackfruit, cauliflower, bitter gourd. These vegetables have been grown completely by organic methods and have been packaged in line with international standards. The minister said that this is the first concrete step towards the dream of “Bihari Tarkari in every plate”.

The initiative came true due to the coordinated efforts of the associations

This export campaign included the Green Vegetable Association of Patna, Tirhut Vegetable Association of Motihari, Mithila Sabzi Sangh of Darbhanga and Magadha Vegetable Association of Gaya. All these associations jointly produced and collected quality vegetables, which were prepared for exports through Vejfed. This consignment is being transported from Patna to Varanasi Airport by road, from where it will be sent to Dubai by air.

This special shipment has been done for Lulu Mall

This vegetable consignment has been sent for sale at the famous Lulu Mall in Dubai. This mall is a prestigious name in Middle East Asia, where quality is preferred. Shipment has been sent through Fair Exporters Limited, which is considered an experienced and reliable institution in international trade. Minister Prem Kumar said that even though this test shipment is small, it is a major proof of the state’s agricultural prospects and the hard work of the farmers.

Doors of global market open for farmers of Bihar

This initiative is going to open a new route for the farmers. Now the farmers of Bihar will not keep their crops limited to local mandis, but will also get an opportunity to reach the international market. This will not only give them more profits, but will also make recognition globally. The minister assured that this process of exporting vegetables will be regularized in the coming time and state agricultural products would be converted into a global brand.
