BCCI New Guidelines on Celebration after Bengaluru Stampede: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) IPL victory was turned into a mourning on Wednesday when a stampede outside the M. BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia described it as ‘eye -opening’ and said that the board will soon make new rules for congested events.

BCCI awake after bengaluru stampede
Devajeet Saikia told the Indian Express, “This incident is a lesson for all of us. Every year some team will win and celebrate in our city. We have to learn from it so that there is no such incident in future. At the moment, BCCI has no control over the personal celebration of any franchise.” (Bengaluru Stampede)
Giving the example of the recent match at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Devjit Saikia said, “Yesterday (Tuesday) there were 1,32,000 people at the Narendra Modi Stadium. We took care of every small aspect of security and mob management, and no incident happened. There was no proper policing and control. There was nothing wrong in Bengaluru, but there is no role of BasCI.”
Victory parade has been done in India before
This Bengaluru Stampede incident has raised questions whether local authorities were given enough time to take enough measures for mob management. Earlier, the BCCI had organized the Victory Parade in Mumbai after the victory of the 2007 and 2024 T20 World Cups, but there was no incident then. However, those events were not limited to a small area.
