Actor -turned -politician Arun Govil is a BJP MP from Meerut today. Arun, who plays Lord Ram in Ramanand Sagar’s TV serial ‘Ramayana’, is now in the news again. In an interview to NDTV, he said that which actor can play the character of Lord Ram on the big or small screen well. He said, “Three-four people tried to create a Ramayana again, but they did not achieve the success that he had expected … I do not think that someone should try to re-make Ramayana again.” Arun further said, ‘As far as an actor is concerned, all the stars are right to play this role. Perhaps someone should be cast from outside the industry.

Arun Govil has also shown fire in films

Ramanand Sagar’s ‘Ramayana’ came 38 years ago in 1987. The craze to see it is still seen in people. Talk about Arun Govil, he made his debut with the 1977 film ‘Paheli’ which was made under the banner of Rajshree Production. Not only this, apart from Hindi, he has acted in Bhojpuri, Braj Bhasha, Oriya and Telugu films. Now, Arun Govil is active in politics. He is a BJP MP from Meerut Lok Sabha seat.
