Team India’s next big challenge on the England tour is a 5 -Test series, which will begin on June 20. But this time the match will not be between India and England, but this series will be played in the name of two great personalities of cricket. Yes, now this series will be known as Tendulkar-Anderson Trophy.

Earlier this series was called the Pataudi Trophy, but the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) wrote a letter to the Pataudi family in March itself. Now according to the BBC report, ECB has given a new name to the trophy in the name of Sachin Tendulkar and James Anderson, which celebrates his contribution to Test cricket. The new name of the trophy will be officially announced before the start of the Test series.

Sachin Tendulkar has been the biggest run machine of Test cricket. He has scored 15,921 runs in 200 matches. Anderson is also the most successful fast bowler in Test history with 704 wickets. The competition between Sachin and Anderson has also been memorable. The two have clashed in 14 Test matches, in which Anderson has dismissed Tendulkar 9 times, which is the highest figure of any bowler dismissing Sachin. Sachin scored 208 runs, facing Anderson’s 350 balls, which included 34 fours.

Now it will be interesting to see whether this new trophy is in India or England. But it is certain that Test cricket is now going to get a new identity in which the two veterans will be respected, and the thrill will be the historic collision between India and England.
