Chennai Super Kings have included South Africa’s young player Dewald Bravis in the middle of IPL 2025 but Brevis has not yet got a chance to debut and when asked about Brevis debut with CSK head coach Stephen Fleming, he said that Dewald Brewis can be one of the players against SRH on Friday, 25 April.

Brevis, which was not purchased during the IPL 2025 auction, has been included by Chennai in the team for the remaining season as a replacement of injured Gurjapneet Singh. Brevis has played 10 matches in his IPL career and scored 230 runs. Fleming was asked if South African players could make their debut for CSK on Friday, then the coach admitted that he is one of the options he was considering.

Fleming said, “He is one of the options that we will consider. We also have other players who have been with us in the entire tournament. The Brevis is a good option for the team, but we only have to decide that we have to decide which team will look best while looking at the players working with us, and also we have to see how much impact the brevis can have. So it is a part of the discussion.”

Speaking further, Fleming also talked about the struggle of the batsmen and said, “This is a mixture of many things, maybe confidence is less. IPL is difficult. Players are starting 20 and 30 runs but we have not been able to turn them into big scores. We have not been able to play the innings of 75+ which prepares the rest of the players of the team. So the batting sequence is not able to work properly.”
