He played a brilliant inning of 183 runs in 145 balls against Sri Lanka at the Jaipur Stadium. Dhoni completed his half-century in 40 balls and then completed the 3-figure score in 85 balls.
As soon as Dhoni completed his century, he lashed out at the Sri Lankan bowlers. Dhoni had hit 15 fours and 10 sixes in this innings. Thanks to this brilliant innings of Dhoni, India was able to achieve the target of 299 runs with 23 balls remaining. Mahi was given the Player of the Match award for his brilliant innings. India had till then taken a 3-0 lead in that 7-match home ODI series.
