Charahi (Hazaribagh). On the morning of Tuesday 31st October, a horrific accident took place near the Daldaliya railway track of Sadbaha village of Charhi police station area. This accident occurred near Daldaliya number 23 between Charhi and Base of Barkakana-Koderma route. The incident is said to have happened due to the passenger train hitting a tractor.
However, this has not been confirmed by the Railways. Eight men and women of Sadabaha village were walking from home to collect milky soil. Meanwhile, they started leaving in the trolley of the tractor coming from behind. The tractor driver had crossed the railway track.
Due to the presence of railway tracks at a place at the other end, the tractor driver was trying to get out when the tractor was thrown away due to the impact of the passenger train from behind. Due to this, a woman, Jhuniya Devi, aged around 55 years, husband Jagdev Mahato, Ramesh Ganjhu, aged around 30 years, father Banwari Ganjhu, who was traveling in the tractor, died on the spot. While Draupadi Devi’s husband Parmeshwar Mahato, aged about 50 years, died during treatment at Arogyam Hospital Hazaribagh.
Injured were taken to hospital
As soon as the accident occurred, the tractor driver ran away safely. The villagers informed the police of Charhi police station about the incident. On information, the police team reached the incident site with full force. Meanwhile, the villagers, with the help of police, sent all the injured to Hazaribagh Sheikh Bhikhari Medical College Hospital, Arogyam Hospital and Ranchi Road for treatment with the help of ambulance.
Body sent to Hazaribagh for post mortem
Draupadi Devi, who was being treated at Arogyam Hospital, died. While the other five injured include Lalo Devi (40) year old husband Mahendra Ganjhu, Subaso Devi husband late Birendra Mahato, Savitri Devi husband Daleshwar Mahato, Karan Mahato father Chandan Mahato, Sangeeta Devi husband Ramesh Ganjhu. All are residents of the same village Sadabaha. Sangeeta Devi is the wife of deceased Ramesh Ganjhu. Both husband and wife had left the house together, the husband died and Sangeeta Devi was injured. There is mourning in the village due to this incident. Police sent the dead to Hazaribagh for post-mortem.
