Srinagar, 01 November (HS). Security has been increased across Kashmir in view of the latest incidents of terrorist attacks. A police personnel and a non-local laborer were killed, while a police officer was injured in terrorist attacks in the last few days.
Officials said security forces have intensified checking of vehicles and pedestrians in several parts of the city as well as other parts of the valley. He said nakas and mobile vehicle checkpoints (MVCPs) have been set up at all major intersections of the city, its entry and exit points, important roads leading to the district headquarters.
Jammu and Kashmir Police and paramilitary force CRPF personnel have been deployed at sensitive places, especially around minority populated areas. Security forces are also keeping an eye on areas where non-local people live. He said most of the non-local laborers have left the valley due to the cold weather, but some are still living in the ghettos. Kashmir valley has witnessed the latest wave of terrorist attacks.
On Tuesday, terrorists shot dead a policeman, father of seven, outside his house in Baramulla district. Earlier on Sunday, a police officer was seriously injured in firing by terrorists in Srinagar, while on Monday a laborer from Uttar Pradesh was shot dead in Pulwama district.
