The Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar got a grand tribute from the MCA (Maharashtra Cricket Association) as it unveiled a statue of the Indian legend at the Wankhede stadium on November 1st, Wednesday, a day before India’s game against Sri Lanka at this venue.

It was a grand ceremony organized by the MCA inviting Sachin Tendulkar, his family, including wife Anjali and daughter Sara Tendulkar, and friends, and other dignitaries, including Chief Minister of Maharashtra Eknath Shinde and Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis along in the presence of hundreds of fans.

The Wankhede Stadium is the home ground of Sachin Tendulkar. And it is here that the ‘God of Cricket‘ fulfilled his dream of lifting the World Cup trophy in his 6th World Cup tournament in 2011. Tendulkar also played his last international match here in 2013, a Test match against the West Indies, and became the first, and still the only, player to feature in 200 Tests.

This life-size statue of Tendulkar was revealed on the eve of the India vs Sri Lanka World Cup 2023 match in front of hundreds of fans. As soon as the red curtain was dropped down to reveal a bronze-colored statue, the fans broke into the chant of “Sachin Sachin”.

The statue is installed near Sachin Tendulkar Stand at the Wankhede Stadium. This is a rich tribute to the batting legend and India’s greatest and perhaps most influential sports person who continued to be adored all around the world. The MCA dedicated this statue to the 50 years of life of Tendulkar, his services to the country, and the joy he brought to the fans in his career of 24 years.
