Father and son arrested for betting on Cricket World Cup at home, fireworks worth Rs 8-9 lakh recovered
Mathura, 24 October. Mahavan Police has arrested two people who were betting at home during the World Cup matches. Police have also seized a cache of fireworks from the house. Its estimated price is said to be around Rs 8-9 lakh.
On Tuesday evening, Additional Superintendent of Police Dehat Trigun Bisen said that Police Station Head Mahavan Asha Chaudhary and SWAT team in-charge Abhay Kumar received information from the informer that his house was being used as a gambling house by Afroz Rizvi alias Bame. The accused is betting and betting on the World Cup match inside his house. On this information, the police raided, in which Afroz Rizvi alias Bame, son of Amir Hasan and his son Sohail were caught by the police. Two people who were gambling inside the house and betting on the World Cup match ran away by climbing the stairs. During this operation, the police recovered a large number of cartoon firecrackers inside the house. There are different types of firecrackers in 31 cartoons. This is not even legally permitted.
CO Mahavan told that their weight is about 10 quintals and the price is about Rs 08 to 09 lakh. Police have recovered Rs 2,20,460 from their possession for betting on World Cup match. The arresting police team included Police Station Head Asha Choudhary and U.N. Lalit Kumar Sharma and SWAT team in-charge Abhay Kumar, surveillance in-charge Vikas Kumar etc. were included.
