The CBI arrested Karan Singh, leader of the Maetai organization Arambai Teengol in Manipur on Sunday. He is accused of inciting violence in 2023. Violence erupted in Manipur late Saturday after the news of his arrest spread.

The government has suspended internet and mobile data service in 5 districts for five days from 11:45 pm on June 7. These include Infal West, Imphal East, Thobal, Kakching and Bishnupur. Curfew has also been imposed in Imphal East and Bishnupur.

The conflict between the Kuki-Metai community started on 3 May 2023, which continues today. More than 300 people have died in these two years. More than 1500 were injured. More than 70 thousand people are displaced. More than 6 thousand FIRs have been registered.

Angry mob also set a bus on fire at Khurai Lamelong in Imphal West district. The voices of several bullets were heard in Quakethel, but it was not known who fired the bullets. Information about the injuries of three people has also come out. The situation remained tense on Sunday morning.
