Story- : According to the legend of Satyavan and Savitri, Savitri’s husband was young, at the same time Dev Rishi Narada came and started saying to Savitri that your husband is a young age. You ask for another groom. But Savitri said- I am a Hindu woman, I choose my husband only once.
At the same time, Satyavan’s head started suffering. Savitri lay her husband’s head on her lap under the Vat tree. At the same time, Savitri saw that Yamraj has arrived with many Yamdoots. Taking Satyavan’s creature towards the south direction. Seeing this, Savitri also follows Yamraj. Seeing them coming, Yamraj said- O husband, woman! The wife supports her husband only to the earth. Now you return.
On this matter, Savitri said- I have to stay with him where my husband will be. This is my wife religion. Yamraj was very happy to hear this answer from Savitri’s face. He asked Savitri to ask for a bride and said- I give you three brides. Say which three brides you will?
Then Savitri asked for the mother-in-law for the mother-in-law, the father-in-law’s lost kingdom and the mother of her husband Satyavan’s hundred sons. After hearing these three boons of Savitri, Yamraj blessed her and said- Aastu! So be it. Savitri again returned to the same Vat tree. Where Satyavan was lying dead. Satyavan’s dead body was re -communicated. And they woke up.
In this way, Savitri not only revived her husband with the influence of her husband’s fasting, but also gave her father-in-law to the mother-in-law and got her father-in-law again.
