The accused created a drama like this
The truth behind the false death story came to light when the Crime Branch, following intelligence received from its sources, arrested a 39-year-old man, accused of murdering a beggar in Uttar Pradesh and living under a new identity in Gujarat for the last 17 years. Arrested from Ahmedabad. Police said that the accused had killed a beggar to fake his death and claim insurance worth Rs 80 lakh. Caught from Nikol area of Ahmedabad, the original name of this accused is Anil Singh, who was a resident of Bhatta-Parsaul village of Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
The accused was living under changed identity
In fact, in 2006, a case of accidental death of a taxi driver was registered at Rakbanj police station in Agra, who was identified at that time by his father as Anil Singh Choudhary. However, police later found out that Anil Singh Chaudhary was still alive and living in Nikol area of Ahmedabad with a different identity, Rajkumar Chaudhary.
This is how the accused conspired
During interrogation, Anil Singh Choudhary told the police that he had conspired with his father to commit his death to get the insurance money. According to the conspiracy, accused Anil Singh Choudhary, along with his father and family members, lured a beggar with food and took him to a hotel near Agra and served him food laced with intoxicants. After this, the accused threw the unconscious beggar into their car and deliberately crashed the vehicle into an electric pole to make it look like an accident. After that, as per the plan, they made the beggar sit in the driver’s seat and set the car on fire to show that the vehicle caught fire due to an accident.
The accused never returned to his native village
DCP Chaitanya Mandlik of Ahmedabad Crime Branch Police said that after committing the crime, Anil Singh Choudhary’s father Vijaypal Singh identified the body as that of his son and cremated him in his native village in Gautam Buddha Nagar district. Police said that as per the plan, Vijaypal Singh Chaudhary claimed Rs 80 lakh as accidental death insurance for his son and after receiving the money, the family members divided the money among themselves.
Aadhaar card, driving license made in changed name
Police said that after taking his share, Anil Singh Choudhary came to Ahmedabad in 2006 and never went to his native village in Uttar Pradesh. He changed his name to Rajkumar Chaudhary and also obtained driving license and Aadhar card in the same name. To avoid being caught, Anil Singh Chaudhary neither went back to his native village nor called any of his family members after coming to Ahmedabad 17 years ago.
