Indian Army contingent for military exercise in Mongolia
New Delhi: The armies of all the countries of the world continue to perform military exercises with other countries. In this sequence, India’s army also conducts military exercises with other countries. Meanwhile, the Indian Army personnel are going to conduct military exercises with the army of a country, which is sure to make China chilly. A team of Indian Army reached Mongolia on Wednesday to participate in multinational military exercises. The Ministry of Defense has given this information in a statement.

According to the Ministry of Defense, this Indian Army team consists of 40 soldiers, mainly a battalion of Kumaon Regiment. The Indian contingent has reached Ulanbatar for the practice of Khan Quest. The Indian contingent who reached Mongolia is also included in women’s military personnel.

Khan Quest is a multilateral peacekeeping exercise that is held every year in Mongolia’s capital Ulaanbatar. The exercise is conducted in collaboration with Mongolia’s Armed Forces and the US Indo-Pacific Command. India is also one of the major countries participating in this practice.
Exercise purpose
The main objective of Khan Quest practice is to train the armies of the countries participating for the peace missions of the United Nations and improve them in mutual coordination, operation and cooperation. This practice prepares soldiers for global peace installation and humanitarian aid campaigns. This time it is going to be held from 14 to 28 June in Mongolia.
India’s participation
India sends its soldiers to Khan Quest practice every year. The participation of the Indian Army shows how much India gives importance to global peace establishment and multilateral military cooperation. The exercise gives the Indian Army an opportunity to work closely with the armies of various countries and adopt international military standards.

The previous version of the military exercise Khan Quest was held in Mongolia from 27 July to 9 August 2024. In 2024, the Rajputana Rifles unit of the Indian Army participated in this exercise. The exercise first began in 2003 as a bilateral event between the US and Mongolian Armed Forces. Subsequently, since 2006 the practice turned into a multinational peace installation practice and the current year is its 22nd edition. (Language)
